Rte. 108 is now open to two-way traffic.

 

Severino and their subcontractors will still be working in the downtown area for the next few weeks. PSNH and Fairpoint’s work will be ongoing on Exeter St. and Main St.

 

Please be aware that Rte 152/Packers Falls Road intersection has reverted to its original pattern. Motorists entering Rte 152 from Packers Falls Road must STOP before proceeding through the intersection.

What's New

 

11/13/08:  Rte 108 is open to two-way traffic.

11/13/08:  Please do not park on Main Street on Thursday, Nov. 13th while the parking spaces, center lines, etc. are being painted, beginning at 6:00 a.m.  Parking is available in the Spring St. and Water St. lots.

Once this work is completed, Rte 108 will be opened to 2-way traffic.

 

9/16/08: Paving is scheduled for Tuesday, September 16th, between the Rte 108/152 intersection and Chapel St and a small section near the Lamprey River Bridge.  Traffic patterns should remain the same.

 

8/28/08: Main Street north of the Lamprey River Bridge will be paved, Thursday, Aug. 28th. Traffic will be one-way and police officers will be on site to direct traffic.

 

8/21/08:  The parking lot at the Post Office will be closed for several weeks, beginning Monday, Aug. 25th, as Severino begins work there. Pedestrian access will still be available.

 

8/18/08: Chapel St. will be open to local traffic only this week while drainage structures are installed in that area.

 

8/11/08: Water Shut Off Notice —residents and businesses north of the Lamprey River Bridge (with Town water) will lose their water service from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. while the new water main is tied in. This is weather permitting—heavy rains may move it to Tuesday.

 

7/3/08:  The stop sign is back in place at the intersection of Elm St. and Packers Falls Road, making that intersection a 3-way stop.

 

6/25/08:  Severino’s construction crews will not be working on July 4th.

 

5/28/08: Severino expects to switch the parking spaces from in front of Rivermoor Landing to the section of Main St. from Creighton St. to the bus stop.

 

5/12/08: Paving is scheduled for tomorrow on Main St. between the top of Exeter St. and the bus stop.

4/14/08: An unmarked water service was broken this afternoon in front of the Eagles and the Sufflex entrance, but we expect it to be repaired today.

3/25/08: Wildcat Transit will be suspending use of the Gazebo bus stop on Main Street during construction. The new, temporary stop will be on Elm Street near the Library. Questions regarding this should be directed to Wildcat Transit at 862-1689

3/8/08:  Construction begins on Water Street on March 24th. The detour will be in place by March 31st, when the work on Main Street begins.

 

12/13/07:  Exeter Street (Route 108) is open!

 

11/29/07: After much discussion, the Town Council voted to allow Severino to keep Exeter St. closed until Dec.13th in order to allow them to complete their work as quickly and safely as possible, and to minimize traffic back-ups.

 

11/26/07: Severino’s Project Manager will appear at the Nov. 28th Town Council meeting to discuss their remaining work schedule for this year.

9/6/07:  While the new water main is being installed between New Road and Gerry Ave., access to Exeter Road (“The Bowl”) for residents and customers of Route 108 Autobody and Flora Ventures will be at the Main Street intersection.

 

8/31/07: There will be no construction work on Friday, August 31st through Monday, Sept. 3rd.  Enjoy the holiday weekend!

 

8/28/07: There will be no construction work on Monday, Sept. 3rd. and Severino expects to curtail operations at noon on Friday. Enjoy the holiday weekend!

 

8/20/07: NH Fish and Game will conduct an Open House in the Town Council Chambers on Aug. 20th from 3:00-4:30 and 6:30-8:00 p.m. They are seeking public input on the proposed improvements to the Water Street Boat Ramp.

 

7/30/07: Project Field Office will open on August 6th at 104 Main Street, next to the Loco Running Shoe store.

7/12/07: Severino Trucking Co. Inc. was introduced at the Public Information Meeting held at 6:00 p.m. at Town Hall. Members of the public and press had an opportunity to ask questions and review the schedule and work plan.

 

7/11/07:  The proposed Drainage Study will be discussed at the July 18th Town Council Workshop

 

6/29/07: The Town Council may continue discussion of the proposed Drainage Study at the July 11th Business Meeting. Please check the agenda posted at Town Hall and on the Town website www.newmarketnh.gov

 

6/20/07: Town Council voted to adopt the Ordinance amending the Downtown TIF District.

 

6/6/07: Town Council will consider an Ordinance to Amend the Downtown Business District TIF to add six properties. Click here to view the proposed revised map.

 

5/30/07: Town Administrator and Severino Trucking sign the construction contract.

 

5/17/07:  Underwood Engineers discusses their proposed Drainage Study and recent flooding events with residents of the Exeter Road “Bowl” and surrounding areas. Click here for a copy of the “Drainage Survey Questionnaire.”

4/25/07: Town Council authorizes the Town Administrator to enter into a contract with Severino Trucking for the Main Street Reconstruction Project

 

4/19/07: Bid received from Severino Trucking, Candia, NH @ $4,391,045, which is just under Underwood Engineer’s construction cost estimate

 

4/19/07: Contractor Bids are due at 4:00 p.m. April 19, 2007 and will be opened in the Council Chambers at Town Hall.

 

4/5/07: Pre-bid meeting at 9:00 a.m. for all pre-qualified contractors

 

3/21/07: NHDOT gives final approval to plans.  

 

2/21/07: Four Contractors have been pre-qualified to bid on the project: Albanese Brothers Inc.; Mirra Co.; Park Construction Corp.; Severino Trucking Co.

 

 

11/21/06: Responses to Contractor RFQ received and currently under review

 

10/24/06: Advertisement placed for Contractor Request for Qualifications, which are due November 21st

DOWNTOWN BUS STOP

 

Use of the Gazebo Bus Stop on Main Street will be suspended during the construction by both Wildcat Transit and COAST.

 

Wildcat Transit Route 5 will stop on Elm Street near the Library. Questions regarding this should be directed to Wildcat Transit at 862-1689

 

COAST Route 7 will pick up at the corner of Spring and Elm Street. You can also pick up Route 7 at Gepetto’s on Gerry Ave. Call 743-5777 with questions.
